I hike in Lone Peaks a very popular Trail shoe. But 5 days a week I don't get to the trails and just walk on streets in running shoes. I am wondering if there is a Altra that mimics the loan peak's for Street use? Anyone think this through and discover a good match?

I have not tried it on yet, but it looks very similar - 25 vs 26mm stack, same typical Altra features.

Altra's Escalente 2 comes in black. Fit is much like the Lone Peak, just different enough to give my feet a welcome change when I switch out.

They have a full series of Road shoes if that's what you mean.
The Torin and Olympus are probably the closest... and also make pretty good trail shoes if the conditions are not excessively muddy. I prefer them in the fall.
The instinct is a little lower profile.

I can wear regular 'tennis shoes' so I don't need the "camouflage" of that series and have never tried them.
That said- I would be cautious with many Altras since they got bought out the buyers are leveraging the name and expanding the line. Some of the lasts they use are not as good and fit issues are more common.
The shoe JC13 mentioned for example is using a woven upper that has a much shorter footbox and pinches my toes. Several models just don't have the volume that you might be used to. Look for that squared off looking toebox you see on the lone peak vs the more slim pointy toe of the escalante.

Merrell 'glove' series shoes are also good street shoes... I like the bare access models personally.

The tread wears out extremely fast for me compared to a road tread.
Also, the Olympus is a trail shoe, not road.

I see what yer saying on the Olympus... it used to have a much less aggressive lug like the Torin and was more of a hybrid shoe.
Torin and Instinct are both 'road shoes' I've worn on trail and off.
The instinct was one of the original models though it's closer to the Superior in terms of stack height. That said- I find I like a lighter shoe for town use. I'm not pounding miles around town so the extra cush is overkill for most stuff. As mentioned... I even prefer the Torin at times, especially around the midwest or central AT

I need a wide shoe n these are perfect for my fat feet. I have to get them a size larger to help the width a bit.
I m everyday around town. Ive got 3 years on my last pair. THe thread is still good I just burnt out the uppers.
Just got another pair n love the fit n waterproofness. Very comfortable too.
