I was just up there last Friday for a short overnight trip to Grassy Ridge. I was totally surprised at the large number of hikers Friday. Saturday was a circus, I must have met several hundred day hikers on my way out. Some "backpackers" were camping only a few hundred yards north of Carvers Gap and many camped along the trail before Grassy Ridge. Several years ago there were "no camping allowed" signs posted here.
