You basically have two choices and they are across the street from each other. Nouth end of town near the highway exit. Similar rates at both.

Red Roof Inn or Econolodge. $59 and $64. next door to each other
Two other choices: the historic General Francis Marion Hotel and the budget Travel Inn. I stayed at both over Labor Day, and would recommend. Really enjoyed my stay in Marion!
