Looking for new poles. I want to go cork as my old foam/plastic ones got too slick. What are the best? I see some inexpensive REI ones.

Leki Corklite Speedlock work for me. Although like most gear you have to find what works best for "you".
For me it's the black diamond, alpine, carbon fiber , flint lock, cork handle.

Check out the $30 Costco "cascade mountain tech" poles, I bought a pair, actually love 'em so far. Cork handles, carbon fiber, not nearly as wimpy as some carbon poles I've seen.
Here's one review:

Andres Skurka has a review out there as well.

Beware genuine cork handles!! They will disintegrate after a couple years of hard use and are impossible to replace (the cork that is)---Here is my last BD hiking pole---and the upper sheen is some cork preservative I used to keep the cork alive.

The 3k carbon are working well for me those are the same poles I mentioned below, $30 at Costco, if you have a nearby Costco.

How cool is that? I didn't know BD made alpine flint lock poles. What caliber?
