that's fancy speak for---"we basically have no idea where he is at but we will throw a dart at the board and see where it sticks"...

Remember Eric Rudolph never made it far from his own home in the 5 years he successfully hid out.

Well, that's not so good.

Take it easy out there and stay vigilant when hiking. Too many crazy posts about these types of instances in the recent past.

Ironically, isn’t this your employer? Nothing in that article links this man to the Smokies. Basically, you can put any park in the southeast in that headline. “...could he hiding in Frozen Head State Park.” “...could be hiding in Shenandoah National Park”...etc. Throw a dart indeed. :)

correction-----my former employer...

as of last Friday, I am no longer working there....

and both of these stations are owned by the same parent company, so it's
all a clip and paste type thing exchanging between different sources.....

and guessing original source wrote their story based upon a poorly written press release coming from
law enforcement....

and that's what im getting at-----that area is such a huge amount of land that he *could* be hiding.....

I think there are more wack jobs like this than we want to admit. Always trust your gut instinct even if it makes for an awkward situation. If the person seems sketchy, he/she probably is and is planning to harm you.

Sorry about your job, or maybe it’s a good thing? I was definitely disappointed in WBIR, my go-to local news source, especially related to GSMNP.

... and the fact that this guy can be anywhere is the point of posting this alert on WB. We have hikers from all over so getting this guys photo out there seems reasonable.

ain't nothing to be sorry about-----i retired........

that's odd........the last couple of years, they have stepped up in how much they cover regarding the Park...

and it generally tends to go in waves, depending upon who is employed (and has more than just an average interest in the Park)....

oh, well...............cant please people all the time.....

Happy retirement! :sun

Any big plans?

can't be any bigger plans than what i have going on this week---
5 quarts of pistachio ice cream, 3 pounds of crab legs, 9 hours of paperwork, a phone call monday morning from my former HR 2 hours after my retirement started, a leak coming from my upstairs neighbor, staying up til 7 am everyday and mainly sleeping during the day.....

but seriously, thanks-------once this virus settles more down, i need to go to MD and clean my dad's house out and get his
estate wrapped up.....

that will take a few months and after that, plan on buying a house somewhere in the mountains and start living life again.....
