Tropical Storm Isaias is going to be roaring up the coast and over northern New England tuesday afternoon until Wednesday AM. The track has shifted west which means potential Hurricane Force Winds on Mt Washington and the higher summits. If it goes east its means less wind, west more wind. With the huts closed there really is no refuge. No matter what the winds heavy rain and run off will flood streams and turn trails into streams so bail out options are poor until the front passes.

Hope any thru hikers get the message as many rely on the forecasts maintained by the huts.

On the other hand once this passes looks like nice august stretch of weather.

The wind is pretty strong right now.

There were cars lined up along the side of the highway as far as the eye could see Saturday at Appalachia. I'd say close to 200. I should have gone back after dark to see how many were left and illegally camping above tree line. I bet a lot.
