A friend and I are thinking about hiking from around Albert Mt to Nantahala Outdoor Center, a little less than 40 miles. I think around the NOC would be a good end point but I will need to get some hiker services around NOC such as the following:
1. Secure parking for 3 or 4 nights
2. A shuttle for 2 from NOC to either Bear Pen Trail or Mooney Gap.
3. A good shower.
4. A possible tent site near NOC for one night (but may not need depending on travel plans)

Anyone know what is available?

aren't all those services available at or through the NOC?

I thought they did but checked the website and it didn't mention those things. I will check with them tomorrow.

When I parked here 3-4 years ago i parked here: 35.333583, -83.591798

Shuttle: Click the link below and call around. I use Ron Brown from Springer to Fontana. He would be glad to do it if he is not booked already.

Shower: Pretty sure NOC offers this, but I dont have definite suggestions on it

Camp: South of NOC <1.0 mile is A Rufus Morgan shelter...Lots of tenting options with a flat walk into town.

I know this is crazy but you can use the telephone app on that hand held computer of yours and call the NOC.

In the past, I used the coin operated showers down by the rail road tracks across from the vehicle bridge. With Covid, those showers may be a no-go. As noted, CALL and ask.

thanks for the responses.... It turns out NOC doesn't do shuttles, or tent camping, they have showers, and the info they gave me about parking is not quite what the deal is.

I did get a hold of Ron and he is my shuttle guy and has helped clarify some details.

So stoked now.

Nice! Enjoy your hike!

When I went thru there I stayed at the tenting/hammock spots of the Cold Spring Shelter, which are just past (north) and to the right. What an amazing spot for a sunrise and view!

willin'
