Mt Rogers Visitor Center Parking

Have there been any concerns about parking outside the Mt. Rogers Visitor center on VA16?

Will the Park service allow parking at their facilities?

I used to park at the NRA and left my car there for 20+ days. I went inside and got a little form to fill out and place in my car's window. Nice thing about it is that they gate the lot all night to keep away idiot vandals etc.

In the current situation, I would suggest that the only reliable information will come directly from the folks at the Visitor Center.

Be aware that the entrance and exit gates are locked when the Visitors Center is closed -- which means you can not exit the parking lot after 4pm. Arrive there at 4:30 and you won't be able to exit until the next morning.

I parked there a few years ago with no problems.

I have parked across the road (2x) on Hiway 16 for a few days at a time with no problems, don't have to worry about locked gates.

all parking, short/long term at the the center are closed. you have to park across the street from it
