I've been poking around on TJ's for the last couple nights looking for a quality PCT trail journal. So many people flake out on their writing and photography halfway through. Anyway, if someone has a good PCT journal, post it here. Thanks!

WB member chris has a great collection of journals on his website (http://www.pierce.ctc.edu/faculty/cwillett/), and his PCT trip is one of them. Jonathan Ley also has a good write-up with photos on his own site (http://www.phlumf.com/).

Not saying it's any good but it's complete: http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=1129
:)
I agree with Whistler. No disrespect to others, but Chris' website is the best I've seen and read.

Yeah it's a good one. I wonder what ever happened to Glory?

checked out chris's PCT journal. I was kind of disapointed in the quality of his photos when compared to some of the amazing ones he took on his other hikes. Wonder if he used a different camera/film combination. Any other journal recomendations? I'm a pretty visual person so I'm more interestedin the photography then the writing

Yogi has a good one, I like Wookie's, and check out Roni's. All are on TJ and the dude who did the Walk and Still Walking docs. recommended Roni's I haven't read them yet.

thanks AT i'll check em out
I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon while it's here. Chris' PCT journal has provided much inspiration for my planning over the cold and lonely off-season. I'm currently with him at Snoqualmie Pass. Have read the whole thing since Campo. A good read.
T,
Is a PCT thru-hike in the works for you? If so, when you planning on going? I'll definitely (well hopefully) do it within the next 5 years.
And thanks to those above who listed some PCT journals. I've enjoyed reading through them.

far from definite, but I've got my eye on the prize. maybe 07?
Thanks for all the kind words about the journal I put up. I tried to write something that I'd want to read, and it seems like the effort was worth it.
To answer a few questions:
1) My PCT photos really suck. I used cheap print film with a point and shoot camera and scanned the photos in with an ancient scanner. The photos from the next summer's GDT hike were with the same camera, but taken with slide film and using a good scanner.
2) Glory ended up being just a day or so behind me for most of Oregon. When she got to the Columbia (WA-OR border), she took a vacation to Hawaii to visit some friends, then returned to the trail and finished up with Yogi and Nameless Mike. Since then, she's lived in Arizona and did a little hiking on the NM CDT. I haven't heard anything from her in about a year, though.
I'd have to say Yogi has a pretty good PCT Journal. (3 X)

Yogi has a great Trail journal. She thru-hiker it three years in a row I believe. Met her in 02? I was trying to finish up the trail in my third year. If you have any questions about the PCT feel free to email me. Always willing to help out. I've done from Mexican border to Stehekin. Last little stretch proving elusive!

This is the kind of thing that makes a person glad that underwear dry out quickly on this side of the country. Great shot.

wholeheartadly agree on both accounts. Also highly recommend Cloudspotters journal. She's a fantastic writer and has wonderful pictures. K, maybe I'm a little biased being friends with both of these ladies, but the content is great.
Also good reads are: Out of Order and Rocham.
Mine has gaping holes and I'm currently finishing Washington, which will leave me with good ole' California to finish. I do have many pics up so take a look.
