I'm doing some tarp research & have decided on two excellent choices. I'm hoping that someone will have some experience with either or both to swing me in a specific direction. 1) Gossamer Gear- Spinnshelter. Super light, very waterproof, easy to set up. 2) Go Lite Hut1. I guess I'm just looking for those final few details to make my choice. I'm 6'1", so the GG is slightly higher to sit in & weighs 6 oz.less. The Go-Lite looks awful nice, and is $45 less. Thanks for any help on this life changing decision.:-?

Try Henry Shires site. He has plans for a tarptent that'll cost you about $65.00 to make - and it has bugscreens. Otherwise, ever thought of designing your own? You can get the silnylon at OWF and sew it up to your specs.

Backpackgeartest (http://www.backpackgeartest.org) has some extensive reviews of the SpinnShelter. Aside from being lighter, it also has more ventilation and pitching options, which would be the clincher for me. The Hut 1 will be much easier to set up and a good bit more durable--along with having space for another person. It's pretty roomy in there. Double the weight, though.

For me, as a mostly solo ultralight hiker who already has a 2-person shelter to use, who lives in the humid south... I'd go with the Spinnshelter [by a nose].

Neo has done a great job promoting these tarps.

The camo tarp is on backorder and won't be shipping until June 12th

Thanks to all for your input. I'm going with the Gossamer Gear Twinnspin tarp. In the end, there are just so many quality tarps available, I just need to choose one, commit and go happily down the trail... It's all good.:banana
