Spring access update:
Conditions on the mountain remain wintry. Katahdin and Traveler Trails remain closed at their trailheads until further notice to protect sensitive alpine resources. Rangers will be assessing conditions on a regular basis and updates will be presented here as conditions change.
Camping begins Saturday for most areas. Tote Road access will extend to Foster Field, just north of the turn to Kidney Pond. The Roaring Brook Road will be open. From the north, the Tote Road will be open to Trout Brook Crossing.
