Is there a fairly straightforward way to hike from the northern end of the Palmetto Trail or the Foothills Trail to Springer or the BMT? A person could hike from the sea to the mountains on the PT, jump to the BMT, then connect to The Mountains to Sea Trail in NC. Might be fun.

On the FHT, heading Eastbound out of Oconee, you will intersect the Bartram Trail at around mile 8. From there, you could take the Bartram to where it intersects the AT at Wayah Bald. Don’t have exact mileages for the Bartram but looks like that’d be 90-100 miles or so. From there, you’d have about a 119 mile hike south to Springer. You could make that way longer incorporating the Palmetto, MST, BMT, etc. like you mentioned. Sounds like a great winter trip to me.

Looks like that stretch on the Bartram may be more like 110 miles. Also may be called the Chattooga River Trail until you reach Russell Bridge.

Hike your own hike, but there would be a good amount of road walking or a non-direct route of trail systems in order to connect to Springer.

Getting to Springer is not the objective. I should have said AT or BMT instead. The loop is the point. Not Springer. Bartram Trail fills the bill. Thanks.

Double check that mileage on your own, they’re rough estimations from me..

Keep us posted if ya plan a route!
