27.9 miles on GPS vs the 25 stated on the guide. 6+ Stream crossings between Rockcastle Bridge and S-Tree Campground.
I would say 90% of this hike is on some sort of road. From Highway, down to old 4WD access roads, but all the same, lots of road walking.
Water available almost every single step of the way.
Lots of dogs along the way, none caused problems.
Eerie rural communities along the way....Kind of spooky almost.
Woke up Sunday in the snow and rain, it was a grind getting done.
Many times signage was non existent. Do not attempt without GPS.
If you are not interested in hiking every mile of the ST, I would strongly suggest not doing this stretch of the ST.
