I posted this in the wrong thread the other day, so here it is in it's rightful place.


So, do any of you use this sort of stove while on the AT? Would it be good for long distance, and can you use any brand gas with it? I'm not quite ready for an alcohol stove yet. ;)

I mostly use my Trangia these days but I've got the SP Giga. Not the Ti version but it does have the peizo igniter. I like to use it for short trips when I can get away with a single cannister of fuel. Speaking of which ...yes, you can use other cannisters such as MSR and Primus with the Giga. Threads are compatible. Those little 3.3 oz are pretty sweet though. Depending on how many meals/day you heat they can last up to 5 - 6 days.
