After our successful Hadrian's Wall Walk this year, I am planning for the Cotswold Way for April/May 2023. We plan to use the same tour company as last year, B&B to B&B, etc.

I'm just looking for any wisdom. etc about the Way.

I would be interested in what tour company you used?

Mickledore. Absolutely satisfied with them.

Our Cotswold Way walk this year was a success. Like last year on Hadrian’s Wall ( Hadrian's Wall hike (whiteblaze.net) (https://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php/132240-Hadrian-s-Wall-hike) ) we used Mickledore again and were entirely happy with their plan.
We flew into Heathrow on 20 April then took the train and taxi to the start at Chipping Campton. We walked until 2 May with a rest day in the middle, then spent two more days in Bath. On the 5th we took a train back to Heathrow and ( since we didn’t get an invitation to the coronation ) flew back to the States on the 6th.
Daily distances were 7 to 13 miles, the total was officially 102 miles. We cut one day short because it was raining and just wasn’t fun ( discovered that our planned lunch spot had burned to the ground, fortunately Suzie's was there ) and got a taxi ride forward to our next accommodation. The Way is less rural than Hadrian’s Wall and goes through towns and villages; we managed some lunches at pubs and stopped for a pint if we got finished for the day early. I was pleased to find 5% ABV cider, cold and on draught; a pint with lunch makes the afternoon go well.
The terrain was a little challenging with some longer and steeper climbs. The daily ups and downs were a couple of hundred feet, the most were about 1100 feet, the highest point was only 1066 feet. Most of the way it follows the Cotswold escarpment and the high ground provided great views of the countryside. We walked on four golf courses, all were rougher than I’ve seen before. The path is well marked, we only got misoriented once coming down off the escarpment.
We saw plenty of sheep and cows. The village houses are typically of Cotswold stone, some with thatched roofs. Someone told us that having a thatched roof was kind of showing off that you could afford to maintain it.
I’m starting to research where we’re going to walk next year.
