They may not have even if they thought about using it, since Ensure sells a powdered version already :) Though, it may just not be something most hiking would even think of, unless they had a previous exposure to it (such as you mention or having an older family member that used it).

Try dehydrating it yourself, or maybe look into freeze drying it. Just a respectful thought.

Order a container of the powdered ensure and compare the taste to the carnation instant. It might taste better.

Wouldn’t you want to mix the ensure with the instant breakfast?

Ensue is mainly GMO corn, sugar, seed oils (rape seed and corn), soy, and cellulose (wood), with a multivitamin ground up and mixed in. Are you sure you want to drink this super highly processed food? Do you have no other options?

If you have the right dehydrator with the right silicone sheets you can dry almost any liquid.

Here's organic whole milk blended with cooked brown rice and ready for the dryer.

Here's carrot juice blended with pumpkin and sunflower seeds---a sort of vegan pemmican.

Finished product.

Here's sweet potato soup.

Voila ready for the hefty bag.
