I have a Kelty Stratus with Quallofil for insulation. The bag is rated to 35 degreesF if in shelter. Will this be enough for the trail?

might be a bit cold at the start, maybe add a liner, but definitely not a new bag - unless of course you are looking to justify that new purchase... the go for it - gear will make you happy!
