Anyone here know a hiker named "AWOL" from 2003. Just got word that he has written a book regarding his 2003 thru-hike. Here's a link to his website:

He's a quality guy with a great family and I'm guessing it should be an interesting book. He'll also be at Trail Days with a booth and is making a presentation on Friday at 11:30 at the Rock School auditorium.

I just finished the book and really enjoyed it. My wife is reading it now and also thinks it is uniquely written...she is enjoying it too.
I have not finish the book yet. But I have to say so far it is the best book I have read with Mouses book coming in second.

Is it written in narrative, novel-like form or does it have day by day descriptions?

It's a little of both to be honest. It follows his hike in sequence in somewhat of a journal format but it includes narrative about people, places and experiences.

Mouse from WhiteBlaze here also wrote a book called "Always another Mountain" by Danie Martin. It is a day by day journal of her 2004 thru hike.

Yes, here's what it said "An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator."
BTW, is this the same AWOL who went back in 2004?

.
both are decent books. AWOL is on TrailJournals, and a lot of the book is off that.

NO ...not to my knowledge. He completed his thru in 2003 and that was it. He was at Trail Days this past May promoting his book in fact.

I wonder if Miss Janet would have anything to say about this 'gentleman"? He 'broke into' her house. But the book's good.
