I noticed that Jack had some nice things to say about Williamstown, MA in his list of resupply points.

Just wanted to add that the town has couple of art museums

I've never been to the one at Williams College but the very nearby Clark Institute Museum has a wonderful collection of French Impressionist paintings. Really nice. (They also have a picture of a woman riding a horse up the mountains in the Whites by Winslow Homer, BTW).

I know that most hikers probably aren't in culture-vulture mode when out on a long hike, but if you are in the right frame of mind, the Clark Institute is a great place. Made an impression on me after a short hike, anyway.

Just heard that the Pizza Hut in Williamstown (or maybe it's North Adams, it's east of the trail on Rt. 2) is closed.

Yes, but the Friendly a little further (right), next to the Grocery Store is open.
