Hey all, I just came back from visiting the site of
Noah's Ark aka southern New England. I can no longer
do family visits. My last time visiting in Jan 05
there was a blizzard that delayed my flight two days.
This time? It rained and rained and rained. My flight
was delayed 1.5 hrs..and still no sun in sight for
southern New England!

But, I did get a hiking trip in on Franocnia Ridge.
Flew into Logan, drove up with my buddy Tim, my
brother and his buddy and went hiking for the day.
Sunny and warm in NH! Good to be back on the AT, even
if for a little while!

That's the short version. Once I have my photos
downloaded to my computer, will do a full fledged NEW
HAMPSHIRE (woo hoo) trip report.

Good to be back on my old stomping grounds...even if
for only a day. And I needed the hiking. I attended a
family first communion....oof! If you have never been to a first
communion gathering in Rhody it involves LOTS OF FOOD.
Macaroni, pizza strips, "wandis", baked stuffed shrimp, etc. etc.
Need stretch pants. :D

Things are actually pretty grim in the region from Portland Maine down to the South Shore and then inland in a triangle to the region around Manchester, NH. Horrible flooding from around 11-14 inches of rain over the weekend. I was driving down from my sister's place just north of Portland last night and we were skirting the edge of the worst of it. If it could hold water, it was full and overflowing...most of the rivers had crested their banks and a lot of roads were closing as the waters eroded roadbeds and generally made a mess.

We went from a 4-6 inch rain deficit for the year to being well on our way to a record surplus with rains and showers forecasted for the whole damned week.

Glad you got out OK.

An Italian First Communion celebration is definitely something to behold.
