Whats the difference im checking out 2 tents everything is the same except on one rainfly its polyester ripstop on the other its nylon ripstop can any one help me please

K i figured out that polyester is better, when nylon gets wet it tends to sag there fore for proper ventilation and minimal condesation polyester takes the cake
lol sorry didnt know anyone else was intrested

Thanks for the info. I will keep this in mind when I make my next tent or tarp.

I tought the modern polyester and nylon (like sylnylon) DWR fabrics stayed dry--there is condensation or rain, but the actual fabric strands are dry. Sounds like what you found is that nylon stretches more than polyester when it has some weight (like water) on it. Or, did your source really state that DWR nylon gets wet?:-?

no, the deal is that nylon stretches so if its sagging on your tent the the condensation from your breath and or body isnt going to be able to leave thats all, no big thing it doesnt get wet
