Had my first "gear backpacking weird dream" last night.
Apparently in the dream my parents went to Europe and came back with new down jackets. My mom had one and I was asking what kind of fill was in it and all that jazz. It was more of a dressy coat than jacket and went to her ankles. I guess it would have been good for parties in Norway!! Anyhow it did come with a detachable hood that was really cool (and didn't make sense with the rest of the coat). So this is where my light weight backpacking mind came in to sabotage the dream. I ended up asking my mom if we could sew a copy of it and use some 800 fill Hungarian goose down and silnylon that I had laying around (dreams are nice this way). Then I woke up. Weird and cool!
