I'm thinking of making a G4 style pack, but since I use a hammock what would I use for a "frame." I won't need a sleeping pad this time of year.
What do you hammock hangers do when making your own packs?

I usually pack mine tightly enough that I don't need a frame, actually. But you could always just use a sit-pad sized CCF pad...those come in handy whether you sleep with them or not.

plus a pad of some sort (sit pad) is a little bit of a safety net if you *shudder* had to go to ground for some reason.
