Back at the idiot box again (for a short while) after a great TDs and trip around the southlands visiting reletives.
First a big THANK YOU to all who bought a Trail/Hiker Friendly Donor sticker that helped support the Hard Core Crew ! On Sunday I was able to give Bob $120 to put towards food or gas (not as much as I hoped but better than nothing) and a bunch a stickers for the crew!
A BIG THANK YOU to Mala for whippin out 14LBS of pancake mix (I believe it was 700 pancakes) for the WB gathering sat morning! AWSOME JOB! That was just saturday! Mala was feeding hikers from the time he set up wed thru tues when he left ....Thanks again Mala!
Going down as the best ever TDs in my journal!
Met so many great folks this year (way too many to name all) but my highlights were meeting Model T(and getting a signed book), Trail Angel Mary,Nean,Sly & wifey,sooo many more...having ALICE (JESTER) and the Bradys stop by the booth(way funny)
Seeing Batch again ...he is 84 now,then theres the impromptu performance late sat nite(or early sunday)at Malas Kitchen tent by Takoma Tedd where he played one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard "Hikers Lullabye" (all his music is of and about the Trail and the JourneyCheck out Tedds CDs available at http://takomatedd.com) Thanks for that memory Tedd ! , and what I liked best was seeing all those who passed thru the magic up at Albert Mt in the spring and seeing how they have adapted and are continuing on the journey! GOOD LUCK 2006ers!
I still have some "HIKER STUFF" leftovers and for a short time before I take the Grandson up on the N.Country Trail (1 week) I have started an EBay store (just trying it out for now ) to make this "STUFF" available for those interested check it out here http://stores.ebay.com/Hiker-Stuff-by-Fishinfred_Category-1_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ2QQftidZ2QQtZkm
