1. Drinking moonshine (from a source that shall not be mentioned of course) after a nice dinner of real food is not advisable.
2. If you stay in town, it's makes for a radically different TDz than staying at the campground.

Is it just me, or were there a lot less ppl this year?

That trout dip was awesome!

What I learned is that moonshine does NOT go well with Old Milwaukee and corn dogs.

That's what I was drinkin' them out of Thursday. No probs.

2 at a time just makes you think that you're drinking less, until you notice that you've turned into a drunk-ish BS philosopher.

I am not criticizing any one here, but unfortunately, threads like this make Traildays seem like a huge frat party. It is not! There is something for everyone and one day is definitely not enough! Just meeting folks you have heard about it worth the trip. I met Jan Liteshoe, Model T, and Journey all for the first time this year. I also have the joy of seeing my buddies from last year. Plenty of folks are out there having fun and not drinking.

This thread is just about the goofy stuff that people saw and did. Just fun! Ok, example of a non-drinking one..... I learned that if you don't fill a water baloon all the way up.....it will bounce off Malas head!

Did you forget to filter? :-?

Filtering moonshine would be a good way to disinfect filters and it is a multi-use item - disinfectant, cleaner / solvent, beverage and stove fuel.

I learned that cardboard pirate ships don't float and seeing old friends is the best thing about Trail Days. Oh and I'm not so young anymore so maybe I'll skip Thursday night next year.

I went to Trail Days at Stone Mountain Park here in GA and there weren't many people there at all. In fact, most groups packed up early rather than staying until 6pm. How crowded was Trail Days at other venues, especially the one at Unicoi?

I did take the opportunity to stop by the ATC booth to tell them that I wanted to lodge a complaint: the trail is too long and it is taking me too long to section hike it. :)

You're talking 2 different events. Yesterday was National Trail Days organized by the American Hiking Society to promote hiking and trail awareness around the country. Check with MOWGLI - he's the WB expert on the AHS. The Damascus Trail Days is a local event geared (no pun intended) to the AT.

My "hiking" during yesterday's Trail Days consisted of participating in the Komen Race for the Cure in DC with 400,000 of my closest friends.
