Ha!!

I know you guys are gonna check this post looking for a hot hiker chick... but we cant do that kind of stuff here.

My brain is fried tonight. First day over 90* here and the humidity is high high high.

I'd stick to the sheets if I was sleeping 6 feet above them.

MAN IS IT FRICKING HOT!!!

It is 113F here today with a heat index of 115F (it is a little humid). Luckily it gets down to the high 80s at night.

When I'm tossing and turning in bed because it is too hot at 82 degrees or so, I'll think of you Sgt., and maybe I'll stop complaining...probably not, but at least I'll remember that there is someone out there who has it a LOT worse.

93* here in the 'Ham yesterday (that was just the temp, not sure what the heat index/humidity added to it) I just know it's hot when you have to sit in your car and work alllll day!

Thanks for the offer GB, but I just moved from Tampa after 18 years there, I'll have to decline that invitation!

Yep - 3 years in Destin and I'm tired of tourists. Now I'm in Monterey and I'm tired of tourists.

Of course, I'm getting a degree in Middle East studies so the AF might send me to Tampa next anyway - God I hope not!

::: Packages ice to ship to SgtRock ::: Since the humidity is relatively low in Iraq, please tell me the Army has set up some swamp coolers.

that depends on where in iraq... dry in the desert, but most of the tigris-euphrates valley area, where most of the people live, is humid as all get out.

Yep - it's actually humid in lots of places over there. When I worked night shift in Qatar I would go run around 2 am (that's 0200 for you, Seeker) - sometimes it was so foggy that I couldn't see 50'! It burned off pretty quickly when the sun came up, though...

Yep. We sure do. And for me, the hotter the better. I just hate humidity.

Yes, it is humid here. My fob has three sides covered by the Tigres.

Hey Sarge....during a mission in NW Baghdad I hung my Casio watch with temp indicator out the vehicle. It registered 126F. You need to go to the Sulaymaniyah area for a break. They got mountains up there on the eastern border with the other " axis of evil"!!! I had to hump up a 7,000k with gear/body armor. Hadn't lost the trail legs, but the altitude had me puffing like I was on the top of Everest. Yet, for a brief second I thought I was on the Franconia Ridge Trail in the Whites of NH with the view and cooler air (88F.) Left a Whiteblaze sticker on a rock. Probably will totally confuse the border smugglers.

That is priceless. I was hoping we would get up north, but no chance. I would love to start an AT extension trail up there.
