recieved a phone call from "Spunky" yesterday & she found her car windows busted out @ trailhead @ James River Bridge in Central Virginia.
She told me an expensive Western Mountaineering sleeping bag & her GoLite Backpack were taken...but, they left some cash & a pair of NEW hiking boots.
Trail Angel Del Schechterly (Fincastle,VA) apparently discovered the vandalism a couple days before & alerted authorities.
The vehicle is being repaired locally...while "Spunky" & "DragonFly" will get in another 20 miles in the beautiful Virginia Blue Ridge.
(They hiked with Model T & Ranger Dawg to Waynesboro & then headed SoBo... see www.ModelT.net).
So hikers BEWARE of leaving vehicles @ James River Bridge!
