Water North and South of Hot Springs?

Hi, Im new at this, (website, not hiking) and hope to get some good info.

Planning a 9 day hike beginning 6-24-06 from Spivey Gap NC, South to Davenport Gap at N end of GSM. There hasen't been much rain in the last two weeks, will I have a problem finding water?

I just finished the stretch from Hot Springs to Erwin and while there were some dry parts, I only ever carried a liter of water and never ran dry. I also did the stretch from Waterville School Rd to Hot Springs a few weeks ago and can't remember having any problems with water. Again, you will find some dry springs but for the most part, there is no shortage of water.

Have a great trip, I thought the stretch from Erwin to Hot Springs was an amazing stretch of trail!

Just finished section from Hot Springs to Davenport Gap. Water good from Hot Springs to Max Patch. After Max Patch very little water until Groundhog Creek shelter.
