Does anybody have field experience with both the Tarptent Cloudburst II and Rainbow shelters sufficient to make a comparison? I understand that they pitch quite a bit differently, but I am trying to make a decision between them. I thought I was all settled on the Cloudburst II, then I saw a couple of Rainbows pitched at Gooch Mountain Shelter in April. That started me thinking.

My priorities are usable floor space to bring gear inside and overall weight and ease of use. I need this tent for a trip to Vermont on August 5, so I have to order very soon.

Henry, feel free to chime in.

Thanks in advance everybody!

Rainman ...I don't own either of them, but I do own the Shires Tarpent Squall and another brand of side entry silnylon shelter.

Floor space being equal, the side entry design is easier to get in and out of.

I'm looking at the Rainbow II right now for that exact reason as our next 2 person shelter.
