Assuming by "duck cloth" you mean "marine duck" yep, good 13 oz. marine duck is tight enough to make water bags. It is also very good pack fabric, though a little on the weighty side. The yarns in duck are packed tightly together. You cannot see daylight through it. Sometimes terms such as 'dry treated' are applied to marine duck. That's good, too.

thanks spock,

the reason I was asking about duck cloth was actually in referance to my thread on utilikilts http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15680 the one I am looking at is https://secure.utilikilts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=46 which is made of 12 oz
