How does one add excitement and adventure while chillin' in a hammock? The answer lies here... (http://www.jamesdeane.com/ExtremeHammock/)

I like the one hanging over the road - that guy has some stones! Or, maybe a few bricks short of a load!

The only thing I found EXTREME was the time I wasted going to the site and looking at the pictures. Reminds me a lot of the guys in the blazer in the movie "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle"
Now those guys were EXTREME, EXTREME tools that is!

Fuirther evidence that the Hammock Camping threads should be subscription based.

They forgot the ridgeline wrapped around their neck. Now that would be extreme! Or an extremely fast train to take out that extreme idiot on the tracks and reduce him to an extremely scattered bloody carcass about three miles long. Time for another extreme shipment of chlorine for the gene pool!!! Extreme hammocking, HA! Makes me feel guilty by association for having a HH.

LOL. Harold and Kumar was the first thing that I thought of when I saw this site. I really like the picture that shows the very minor scratch on the back of the guy's leg. As if they are saying "Extreme hammock at your own risk. Severe injury may occur."

LOL loved that site...thanks for sharing.
Just what I needed to lighten my stress level today!

About the white hammock...I will do some research my guess is of course made in Canada or prehaps a homemade one even.

Hana_Hanger
06-26-2006, 22:15
Nope not homemade just noticed the tag on the one photo sticking out now if only I was super woman I could read it... :D

Looks like it might be a rock climbing product.

Frolicking Dinosaurs
06-26-2006, 22:39
I massaged the tag in photoshop - I can 'see' a '1', 'L' or 'U' followed by an 'S' or a '5'. The next letter is unreadable and then what appears to be a 'W'. Strange hammock - appears to have something similar to an aluminum bow underneath and providing tension to the sides.

Photoshop now that was a great idea Frolicking Dinosaurs.
Jeff may be right on the rock climbing thing...but yikes I would not want to sleep out there suspended in that. Take that back...I would NOT want to be rock climbing period. Maybe when I was young and fearless...or I have such seen too many scarey mountain pics I guess.
So far I come up with only HH in Canada of course :P

I emailed the guys from the site

Hey there,

the white hammock I use is from Ikea (strange.. I know)
and it's called 'dyning' and it was about $50. I'm using a new
one that is much more portable and built way tougher.
It's from Mountain Equipment Co-Op www.mec.ca (http://www.mec.ca/)

great to her you're diggin' the extreme hammock

Mike - the guy in the hat

ha ha...dang I just got done emailing him as well...and came back to post it.
I hope he does not feel we are pestering him.
Especially since they just had a newborn baby.
oh dear
SAY ...great minds think alike. :D

I haven't found it yet on that Ikea site...
but I emailed a different man I see...it was James Deane
and he was the one who just had a baby girl
not the Mike person. (heehee well not him either but his wife lol)

You got a quick answer Dino...that was great.

Anyone like the Mountain Equipment one?

ohhhhhh nooooo Dino
you did it now.
I just got to have one of those pink ones!!!
(Its for my granddaughter....really it is...yeah right
so why do I want to order two of them..says my brain.)

The shipping is going to kill me!

Gotta try one of those...man I hate that I am such a collector that's a nice name for a gearhead and packrat :D

Thanks I was in the Canadian Ikea site

By the way that Peak Outdoor Gear one looks just like all the Ticket to the Moon and so many others. I bet one company in Indoneasia makes them for everyone just under different labels. Not anything wrong with those either. I own two under different names and LOVE how strong they are and how light.

Thats a lot like the Extreme Ironing site. I think the ironers are a little more extreme though.

I got an email that the website has been updated. They now have an offical sponsor, Trek Lightweight Hammocks (http://www.treklightonline.com/). The hammocks look nice. Kinda like a Speer design.

BTW, I had problems viewing the site with Firefox. I had to use IE.
