Shelf life

So I've come across a box of dehydrated and vacum pack food. The usual suspects: chicken, beef, taco beef, veggies and what not. My question is how lond do you think this stuff keeps for? My best guess is that it has been in it's current state for about a year. Still good?:-?
Oh and how long do MREs keep for?

Don't know about MRE's...years most likely....but my dehydrator book says that dehydrated meat is good for a year if kept in the freezer....so, kinda vague. My best guess is several months. 2 weeks ago, I ate some chicken that I dehydrated in February, in a baggie.....and I'm still alive. Vacum packed.....you should be good for a while.
