On Saturday, July 8th, someone tried to break into my vehicle while my family and I were doing a section hike between <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Elk</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Garden</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> and Fox Creek (we parked at Fox Creek). When we completed the hike, I discovered that my door lock had been destroyed in an attempt to gain entrance into the vehicle. They failed ... but it cost $500 to repair the damage. BEWARE!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles TimeTraveler, but your post came out looking like you started somewhere in microsoft cyberspace and ended up at Fox Creek.
Where did you start from, just wondering..?

Bad Luck TimeTraveler. Hope it does not effect your family hikes, looks like you all have fun. How long has the family been backpacking together?

Elk Garden is VA 600 (I think). It is not Fox Creek.

I was just trying to deciper the original post. I think it should look something like this:

"On Saturday, July 8, someone tried to break into my vehicle while my family and I were doing a section hike between Elk Garden and Fox Creek (we parked at Fox Creek). When we completed the hike, I discovered that my door lock had been destroyed in an attempt to gain entrance into the vehicle. They failed ... but it cost $500 to repair the damage. BEWARE!!! "
