What is the AT like in the Bigelow Mountain preserve outside of Stratton ME? I was wondering about the scenery. My wife and I are planning a kayaking/backpacking trip to ME and would appreciate info on this area.

The Bigelow Preserve has much to offer, rugged hiking with outstanding views from several summits. The surrounding area has plentiful water with Flagstaff lake and the North Branch of the Dead River all nearby. These waters are some of my favorites for kayaking/canoeing. Many campsites on Flagstaff lake with outstanding views of Bigelow. Hard to go wrong recreating here!
