The Vapor Trail has a pocket external to the main bag where a water bladder can be placed (see bottom of following page: http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Packs/Internal%20and%20External%20Framed%20Backpacks/Granite%20Gear%20Vapor%20Trail/Mark%20Stiebel/Initial%20Report/ ).

Does the Nimbus Ozone have this "feature"?

Thanks!

Hmmm... On the Ozone, that is where the "internal frame" parts are located. On my Ozone the bladder pocket is inside the pack, with a thin layer of nylon keeping my stuff dry in the event of a leak (insert sarcastic laugh here). I do not know if the new design has changed though - mine is a 2004 model I think (may be an '05 model).

No, the Ozone's frame 'structure' is attached to the bag in a way that it is one. The Vapor has a slight framesheet that combined with the back padding is attached down the sides of the bag and at the bottom, leaving the top open for a 'pocket'. Works well with my 2L platty. Anything stuffed in this pocket helps give the pack a little more structure.

I picked up a used Ozone on eBay thinking it would have a hydration bladder pocket, but it doesn't. I think it is an '03 model, but I'm not sure.

I think the pocket was new for '04...

Not that I'm a weight-freak, but I gave up using a bladder and ripped out the internal pocket. During my first 500 miles I had two different bladders develop cracks. Plus, I didn't like digging down in to get it for refill, etc. So, I pulled all the stitches out and removed the pocket entirely. I used one Nalgene and one Aquafina (or equivalent) 20 oz bottle in the side pockets. I found I could rock the pack slightly to one side while walking and access the bottle just fine.

Lovely pack, that Ozone...

I stopped using the inside pocket because it’s so much easier to keep the bladder in one of the outside pockets. The two-liter Platypus fits nicely, the three-liter less so (too tall). The bigger bladders will fit on top, either inside before you roll the top down (a compactor bag liner is in order here) or outside under the two cross straps.

I wondered how to fill the bladder in my bag as well. I came up with this little gizmo (http://whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/files/4/5/0/7/DSCN0393.JPG) after I bought a Hiker filter and wondered what the male adaptor was for. Now I can fill my bladder while it stays in the pack!

I have only experienced one leak and if it happens again, I will switch back to Nalgene bladders - guaranteed leakproof, but a bit heavier than Camelbak or Platty.

I knew someone was going to ask... I think I found it at BassPro - but not 100% sure on that. Let me see if I can find it online - in the mean time Camelbak makes this (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://rcm-images.amazon.com/images/P/B0006UMPHA.01-A271MW3H35GQF2._SCTZZZZZZZ_.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hikepa.com/gear/reviews/pur_katadyn_hiker_water_filter.htm&h=110&w=110&sz=4&hl=en&start=11&tbnid=F5xflgfhRqoKQM:&tbnh=85&tbnw=85&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwater%2Bfilter%2Bkatadyn%2Badapter%26 svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26hs%3DhgQ%26lr%3D%26safe%3Do ff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DG), which I have and is bulky. What I like about the one in the photo is that it is small and works with the adapter that came with my filter (which works with several other adapters) Once I found the thingy in my other post I was able to hook my filter to all of my resivoir bags with the same attachment.

Edit:

I sent an email to CPC (manufacturer of the adapter) to see what they had to offer or if they could tell me what this adapter was (specs).
