A friend told me about this today. We climbed Longs two days before this happened. I'm not exactly sure what part he slid down since it was not the way we went up. For the most part that mtn climb is pretty safe for those in shape that hike and do a bit of climbing every now and then. But there is definately the possibility of having a nasty fall if you aren't paying attention or using good judgement.

Lucky guy though...

It said he had an ax, so I doubt it was one of the easier routes.
I wonder if he had crampons or if they were even needed.
