I've decided to opt for a new poncho vs my very old and very worn (and very hot) Stearns rainsuit.....

Anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding the;
Cascade II Backpacker Poncho available from Campmor...seems to fit the bill pretty well ie inexpensive, relatively light...

I guess my biggest concern is can I really get if over my pack...at 118" I would hope so..

As always, thanks

HI that is a big YES I would say unless your pack is so huge you would not want to be carrying it anyway. :D

I have a 52" x 40" rain poncho that fits nicely over me and my Mountainsmith Ghost pack with plenty of room, just does not hang low on to my leg area. Which I prefer to be open and airy.
The one you listed above from Campmor is HUGE it fits over my husband's external Jansport Carson 90 (which is also HUGE) and him with plenty of room to spare. Even with a tent at the bottom and a CCF pad attached!
I would still consider it hot though...all rain gear seems hot to me.
