Has anyone taken this grain on a hike.

I did a quick comparison:
100 gCaloriescal from fattot fatsodiumcarbprotAmaranth374547216614Quinoa3744962 16913

They are very close in nutritional value, and I wanted to know if anyone has tried both?

I can get either very easy where I live.

Thanks.

Haven't taken aramath on a hike but I bake bread from it at home and it is my favorite grain. Taste is robust and nutty. Now that you mention taking it on a hike .... du, why didn't I think of that!

Perhaps if it were well ground, how would you use it, as a grain cereal like an oatmeal? or use it as an in-pot bread type meal?

I am going to get some and Quinoa test them out.
Will post what I find, as far as ease of cooking, etc, etc.

Thanks for the input.
