That's a good idea, Topcat, but I find that just going for a walk.....from Maine to Georgia works best for me. :)

I don't have enough will power to count calories.

i use mypyramid.gov

it's a good site. you imput your food and it spits out all the nutrients you had for the day, as well as a seperate column for the amount of nutrients you should have in a day.

it also keeps a nifty graph of the calories (or whatever you set it to) that you've consumed over the past few days/months/etc.

i find it a good insight to eating patterns.

My diary shows some 4000 calorie intake days on the trail that are net negative. Best excercise out there for sure is walking the trail with a pack on your back. Cant wait to be able to hike fulltime like you. Your my hero...lol
