Trailhead Reports?

Hi. I'm new to this so I have no idea if I'm posting in the right place!! I'm planning to section hike part of the AT north of the Smokies. I'm trying to find out where is the best place to leave my car on the last leg of my trip. The choices are Devil's Gap or Sam's Gap. Both are on the TN/NC line. I've heard both places might be risky but seeing if anyone knows of any break-ins in either of these places or have any opinions. There's no mention of these on the AT thru hiking companion...

I would not leave your car in either place.

Another possibility is to contact Miss Janet, in nearby Erwin, who could probably help you out. Call her at (423) 743-1932. She could easily come get you at Devil Fork or Sams, plus you'd have a great place to rest and clean up before heading home.
