How bad is the USFS Road to Nimblewill Gap? Is it unwise to plan on getting a shuttle to this access point?

I called a local shuttle and they do not go up Nimblewell Gap Road. They are going to shuttle me to the FS42 crossing.

Yeah the road is pretty bad. You'll have to have a high clearence vehicle to get up to the gap.

With 4x4 its not problem. We found the high clearance needed was less of an issue than the steep grade. Traction on the steep grade made it more difficult than protruding rocks/potholes.

The road is rough but passable. I have never had to use 4x4 but I would not go in a car. It is also a ways up.
