Word to your friends hiking now, or anyone who wishes...:)
Jeopardy and I are heading north in the morning (9/20/06) to have our 4th annual 'Magic in the Middle of Nowhere' hiker feed/get together. Also known as my 'self affirmation' week; since strangers come out of the woods telling me how much they love me, and they don't even know me....very good for the psyche.
We're coming home Monday, or when we run out of food.
It's a low-key affair, we bring what we can afford, and share what we can.Just don't touch my coffee.
Everyone is welcome, we camp at the end of Nahmakanta Lake where the AT crosses. This is an official 'North Maine Woods' campsite, and even has TWO privies! Very plush indeed.
(If driving: pass rhough Jo-Mary and Henderson check-points, turn right.)
Don't bring your dog, because we have to bring ours....
If you're in the area, stop by and say hi. Have a meal, and you're welcome to camp with us. Last year we had around 45 hikers pass through.
I'm bringing plenty of Debbies. As Tea would say, "Ohh...sweet Debbie...".
