I've talked to a few people that live in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem area. I'm just wandering how many more live around here? I'm lookin into finding either someone or a group of people near me to hike with on overnights and such so I dont have to do it alone. Post up if you are near me!

But hiking alone is one of the best things in life.

Try joining the Sierra Club, and/or the Piedmont Appalachian Trail Hikers. PATH is the local maintaining club:

Blue Ridge Mountain Sports in Greensboro has monthly backpacking trips. You get company plus some instruction, if you want it. Nice group of people.

There are a bunch of white-blazers in the Triad, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to hike with. (Me, I'm at that stage of life where I never have time to hike anymore. Grrrr. Go now, while you're young.)

Greensboro, here. I'm always up for new hiking partners :D

Cranky - I don't think it's age! I'm "young-ish" and I have to jump through unbelievably many hoops to get away....

I dont mind "hiking" alone, its the longer trips that I dont really like going on because ya never know what will happen if you are far from a civilized area.....
