Live in Lynchburg, Va, about 1 1/4 hours away from the Priest (SR 56). At 59 yo I will be part of the Class of 2013.
Want a weekend partner sometime let me know. Most of my hiking friends, my age, just do not want to go out more than a few hours at a time :confused:

Hey Cabbage. The lack of response could be because most people choose to start solo and 'fall in' with a group as they go. If you go NOBO this definitely won't be a problem, SOBO may be more of a challenge. I've read lots of these message boards where people started with a partner or group and found they weren't compatible.
I would recommend frequenting this site and maybe trailplace.com and getting to know the other 2007ers and then going for it. YOu will be familiar with those starting out around you.
