I have always used trash bags for water crossings where I need to remove my boots. I always wanted to make something with a rubber sole to prevent the bag from being punctured. Well, Wiggy's beat me to it. They have a rubber sole and are made of 200 denier. They weigh 8.9 oz, total.

I glad you posted that! I was just thinking of these waders today.
They were mentioned in a "What shoe/sandals to wear when crossing a stream" thread about 4 months ago. I couldn't remember the name to save my tarptent. Thanks! I put that on my favorites for a too self Christmas shopping spree.

Whoa - at $50 - imagine how many trash bags that would buy!

Buckhead, I do what you mention with the trash bags. However, I put on my croc knock-offs after putting on the trash bag. Instant waders that use the camp shoes I'm already carrying as soles. The only use I could see for the Wiggy waders would be trout fishermen who backpack to great sites and then spend much of the trip in the water.
