It's been an exciting week in Erwin. Those of you who have stayed at the hostel over the years have come to know my old dog Fabyan. Well, we recently made a very odd discovery! All this time, we thought Fabyan was a "he." But with the unexpected arrival of seven puppies, it looks like we were mistaken. Photos will be coming soon, in the meantime, anyone who wants a very cute black hiking partner should get in touch in about seven and a half weeks.

Congrats Auntie Janet!
I don't know, something sounds fishy.... (can something sound fishy?)

Only rarely. Whaley sounds are more common.
Congrats! Hows Fayban doing? Is she/he being a good parent? Seven is a good size liter.

You never looked? You must be busier than we all thought.

One would think that with most dogs the difference between 'outdoor' (male) and 'indoor' (female) plumbing would be obvious. I'm sure that Miss having two daughters and being female herself would know the difference. So I blame the dog on having a sex change without notifying the owner in advance or after the fact. Congrats Miss J!!!:D:p

Krewzer--I'm not sure the info would be that reliable from the aforementioned source--for obvious reasons! ;)

I just thought the dog had "liberal" inclinations. Glad to know it was a case of mistake gender.

Miss Janet, The gestation period for most dogs is 63 days. The daddy should be informed. Have you checked your records to see what thruhikers stayed with you on or about August 6th. Maybe one actually was accompanied by a male dog. Or, maybe not.
I bet it was Minnesota Smith. Fabyan fits all his criteria!
After the last couple of stressful days, I needed a good laugh. This takes the cake! Do we now change names from fabyn to fabyiana or something to the likes????

I did not touch that dog. I was still on honeymoon.

Actually, Orangebug and Minnesota Smith kinda' resemble each other so I don't think that would settle the paternity question. :p

Who let the dogs out? I was at your place on July 28th but Moonshine (and her pretty little baby) had her eyes on me the whole time.

The marvels we witness! This is a better story than the numerous women who have suddenly had a baby without realizing that they were pregnant. You really honored Fabyan's privacy--I mean REALLY!--kINNICKINIC
