I remember when we first hit 100 members, then during a really crazy period we hit 500. Now we are just short of 1000 members.

We have over 12,000 post. Awesome!:banana

My prediction is that the name for member #1000 will start with the letter "E".

Is that a four letter word that ends in Y or a nine letter word ending in R?

there are 4 amusement parks along the way. According to the maps Ive looked at. The furthast from the trail is Hershey Park at about 20 miles. Dollywood in Tennesee. Dorney Park, Williams Groove, and Hershey all in PA. (also six flags Atlanta but they wont be open for the northbounder). Bromley mt vermont has alpine slides and some cool looking downhill go carts!

Depends on when you leave. 6 flags opens the 2nd week in April (4/5 I think this year) for spring break and then is open on weekends til summer. Seeing as the "best" time to depart on thru-hike (weatherwise) is mid-april one could easily hit 6 flags.

We have pictures of us at Hershey Park, PA in the photo gallery. Duncannon in only about an hour from there, and we all couldn't resist a zero day in the park. It was hysterical, 8 hikers with huge beards and smelly clothes riding the rollercoaster..makes for some good photo ops! :)
