I have yet to pick up a new part time job, so I may as well go hiking this weekend. I have yet to do any hiking in Kentucky. Does anyone know of any good weekend hikes in the Kentucky area? I would like to keep it to within a 2 hour drive of Cincinnati. Any ideas or does anyone want to joing me?

Thanks

If you haven't been to Red River Gorge it really is a must see. Lots of trails to hike. Just be sure to get an overnight pass to park your car in the park. You can pick up a great guide book at the lodge gift shop. It describes all the arches and trails.

Natural Bridge is near Red River Gorge. I never hiked there, but my friend got married there on an overlook to the bridge at the end of autumn. The foliage was gorgeous and the weather was perfect.

The Red River Gorge is beautiful this time of year and there are over 200 miles of maintained trails in the area. Most gas stations sell a trail guide as well as the overnight passes. It's a beautiful hike anywhere you go. You can camp in the backcountry anywhere in the Red River Gorge, but Natural Bridge does not allow overnight backcountry camping but is definatly worth the short hike to the bridge. Natural Bridge is a very small part of the Gorge.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think will go to red river gorge. I have ben wanting to go there anyway. From the maps that I found online, it looks like there are lots of shorter trails. Anyone have any favorites?

Koomer Ridge Trail is nice and has several connecting trails. I cammped on Buck trail, Off the Koomer Ridge trail, a couple of weeks ago. Sections of the Rough Trail and Sheltowee Trace are nice.
