I recently re-discovered this wonderfully expressive photo of Our dear friend and mentor.
What is that saying "a picture is worth..."
I just uploaded it a few minutes ago.

Look on the bright side Jack. No one can accuse you of being insecure about your manhood. :p

What were you doing Jack? Hitching a ride to Ashevegas? ;)

Hey, what can I say?
We had to get somewhere, and realized nobody in that town was gonna pick up a backpacker, so we improvised.
And actually, it was all done for charity.
No good? How about, I lost a bet.
Or how 'bout.....
Ahhh, the hell with it. I never really wanted to run for public office anyway.
Which doesn't alter the fact that Sy is a dead man!! :D

Is that at Hot Springs, NC?
EDIT:
I just noticed the Jim Beam. :)
As you see Jack has his bottle in the picture. So does this say Jack will do anything when he has his bottle?

Thanx for the kind thought, Boston.
Please note that the bottle in question happens to capped....and full.
It was given to me by the photographer, but I decided that capped or not, it probably didn't need to be waved about at a downtown road crossing.
The photo, by the way, dates from Hot Springs, and involved a parade with a
costume contest.
Several folks suggested I take part, and offered to help me with a costume.
First prize, which I won, which was a magnificent dinner for two at the nicest restaurant in town, the Mountain Magnolia Inn.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat, if I knew a good dinner or good cause was involved, but I might alter the costume a bit. It's REALLY hard to walk very fast or well in a dress that tight.

Look on the bright side Jack. No one can accuse you of being insecure about your manhood.
Or his womanhood, as the case may be...
This may be just what Minnesota Smith is looking for! :)
great pic..what a woman I mean man I mean...
LOL...I've heard some hikers pick up odd jobs to make a few bucks. But Man!!! I don't think there's much money being made on this corner.

No, but across the street they were selling tickets to this show.

My daughter swears she has seen this picture on the wall at Kincora. (The exact quote was, "Mr. Peoples had that on his wall!") Since she's never met Jack in person, this picture is all she has for a visual reference. Hmmmmm. :-?
Oh my God. I'm gonna hurl. I thought that hooker was a chick. She told me she was a chick! I want my 20 dollars back!

ROFLOL...takes me back to how I met my first dear wife.
"she was much in love, I was dumb and young,
her daddy were a preacher, her mama had a gun.
I was mighty drunk, the legs they couldn't run.
quick as ole Jack Rabbit, the ugly deed was done
the moral of this story, for all and everyone
don't drink in Alabama, before the settin' sun.
and if you're in New Hampshire, thinking of some fun
watch for maids named Jack, it be a warning to you son."
This one's for you Jack.

Hey, I was there for this!
I think this was the very first Hot Springs Trail Fest back in 2000...right?
I for certian remember that outfit...wasnt that the year of the pantied Goat and the possum in the backpack as well?

How soon they forget.
It was a woodchuck, King, and a mighty big one at that.
I don’t know exactly what this is a picture of. More precisely, I don’t know what category would be an appropriate one for this photograph. It stands alone. Maybe it's the sheer wanton sexuality screaming for it to be included in something. :)
The best photo I’ve seen to date of what hiking can do.
If you could only see one photograph to understand hiking, this should definitely NOT be it. If you were to see only two photographs, this should be one of them.

Just to put things in perspective, I occasionally look a bit different.
For example, many years ago, back when I wore a suit in Boston, this is what we looked like when we went hiking.
http://gallery.backcountry.net/chomp-jacksuit/aae?full=1
I'm not sure the Hot Springs outfit is an improvement, but at the very least, it was a pleasure to lose the necktie. Except for a handful of funerals, weddings, and one high school graduation, I haven't worn one in 10 years.

Nah ...those were just the first items of clothing I grabbed when I came out of the shower at the Cabin. And, those were some of the more tame items.

i'm inclined to think a strawberry shortcake bathrobe is more embracing your inner child than cross dressing.
