I didnt' really know where to post this since it happened in Utah, but the fellow involved did hike the App. Trail the week before the incident. Once again we have a fellow who was just short of fully prepared for all outcomes...

Well, he did plenty right after he fell off the cliff, too. Whistling and signaling and all. Anyone can have an accident, but he did the right stuff to deal with it. Maybe he could have put more in his daypack, but I think he did pretty well all around considering he got hurt.
